When planning a last minute holiday party this past week I found myself scouring the internet for an easy Hot Toddy recipe, with the emphasis on “easy.” I came across several requiring tons of ingredients, and some requiring eggnog …Yuck! I eventually found a few festive and easy Hot Toddy recipes requiring sangria, I tweaked them and came up with this gem of a recipe. It requires only 5 ingredients and about 5 minutes of preparation time.
The Sangria Hot Toddy was so delish my guests and I managed to polish off an entire jumbo size crock pot of this festive drink. Happy Holidays everyone, and enjoy this most delicious, festive, and easy Hot Toddy recipe!
Easiest & Festive Hot Toddy Recipe
With only 5 ingredients and 5 minutes to prep this is by far the easiest and festive and most delicious Hot Toddy Recipe!
- 2 Bottles 1.5 liter X 2 Sangria Wine Sam's Club Brand- It doesn't matter which brand you choose
- 2 Cups Dark Spiced Rum
- 5 Cinnamon Sticks
- Juice of 2 Oranges
- 1 Orange Sliced Thin
- 1 Cup Fresh Cranberries
Gather your ingredients.
Add everything to the crock pot, set to high and bring to a simmer. Once it achieves a simmer set to warm and let sit for a few hours to pick up the cinnamon flavor.
The oranges were a little tart, so I added a tablespoon of Truvia after tasting to sweeten up the batch. This step is totally optional!
Keep your crockpot on warm while serving to your guests, and enjoy!
Here are a couple of pics of my night, to give you a quick synopsis of how the fun evening played out. If you are a fan of my blog you get my love of doing mostly everything “on the cheap.” From using inexpensive M&M’s for a colorful garnish, and utilizing Sam’s Club prepared food, as to not have to kill myself in the kitchen. Holiday game night was probably one of the easiest and cutest evenings I have ever hosted! I even pulled out the Christmas China to add a cute and colorful addition to the spread, funnily enough, that backfired when one of my guests who happens to be 6’5 asked for a “manlier” mug!
If you have any Holiday recipes, I’d love to hear from you in comments!
